Machrihanish Dunes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Machrihanish Dunes is located on the Kintyre Peninsular which is famous for its link to the Wings song 'Mull of Kintyre' written by Paul McCartney.

The resort has two hotels, the Royal Hotel situated in the town of Campbelltown and the Ugadale Hotel, Lodges & Pub in Machrihanish. Machrihanish Dunes was designed by David McLay Kidd and opened for play in 2009, although still quite young the course has a wonderful natural feeling to it! Also in the area is Machrihanish Golf Club with its course dating back to 1876, it is considered one the worlds great links courses.

The area is also known for its whisky with Springbank distillery located close to the Royal Hotel in Campbelltown .

It takes approximately 3 hours to drive from Glasgow. But don't let this put you off, as the journey up along Loch Lomond and then down the Kintyre Peninsular is stunning to say the lest. The area can also be reached by air or ferry.
